Government Exports of Plywood to Stimulate Economic Growth

Republik, Batang – The government of Batang Regency, Central Java, hopes that the first plywood export activity by PT Java Wood Industri to America can help restore economic growth in the local area.

“The initial export momentum by the company PT Java Wood Industri is a sign of economic growth,” said Batang Lani Dwi Rejeki Acting Regent in Batang, Saturday (18/6/2022).

According to him, the company producing plywood sheets first exported 3,800 plywood. “We really appreciate PT Java Wood Industri. Moreover, this company mostly takes Sengon wood raw materials from local community forests in the local area,” he said.

Lani Dwi Rejeki said the district government would fully support it by facilitating the ease of licensing and other things that do not violate regulations. “Hopefully there are companies that can start positive things by exporting plywood so that other companies can follow in the footsteps of PT Java Wood Industri,” said Lani.

Director of PT Java Wood Industries Huang Yang Jiang said that this initial export value reached 200 thousand US dollars and would be sustainable. “Plywood can only be exported when it has entered the bonded industry which was obtained in January 2022. We are able to produce 200 to 210 containers every month. For raw materials, we use local wood,” said Huang Yang Jiang.
